Ok I tinted the 04 sentra this afternoon on sunday wow I hate those 1/4 windows everything else was cake. How do those windows come out for the next one i get to make my life easier. I tried like twice on each one to get a decent enough job but that was a whole stress trest to me. Any help please on removing those windows?

I've never had a problem doing those. So I don't know how to remove them. If you can nail that rear window on that car, I can't believe the 1/4's give you a hard time. What was the problem exactly?

last one I did I used the Wire Idea on it worked great. But Yes that Little Bastard has a Bit of a Curve to it. But I cut it out then Place it on the Glass wall and Make a Finger on the front edge and shrink a little and works great. But the Wire Idea Also helped with Cleaner Install

taking out quarter windows are cake, you can search it on this site if you want

on top molding of the door if you remove that there is a screw there,

after removing the panel, there is 1 or 2 10mm bolts, take those out, the bar comes or slides out, quearter glass out!

but, im able to do those with no problems dunno.gif

I 've done several of those little bast**** . it seems that the 1/4 's vary vehicle to vehicle , some a little easier some not as easy . That back glass is straight gravy , no r & r , easy to one piece with powder , glue the top and done , slightly harder if you wet shrink !

Yeah the back windows was gravy I didnt have a problem with that 20 mins dry shrink with the mdog method. Then i worked my way up to the quarter glass and there were just a bitch. I didnt have any wire on me unfort. but i am going to end taking those out if they are all like that. the finger I had running on that 1/4 win was about 5 tall. and just a pain in the azz

yeah those vary from one to the next. i've done some where there was no way but to shrink it first. then others the film just layed right down without it. dunno.gif either way though i never take 'em out.

I've done several of those and never had any issues. Shrink if need be but the film will slide up and in just fine.

bingo.gif it seems to me..every one i do..one side is more curved them the other...i have done both..leave them in or take them out..i perfer to take them out if i have the time to do it....i think they come out nice and clean taking them out...and you dont have to do any triming of the rubber seal.. thumb.gif

Dido, did one last week. did that window twice to get it right.

if you tinted the rear window 1st then take the liner from it its either on the ground or in the rear seat area, then place that on the 1/4 window rough trim it to get the excess out of the way then squegee it down and cut it right there (the liner) cut it as close as you can get then place it on the drivers door or your glass cutting board. now you have your pattern and when cutting the tint you can double cut this one just reverse the tint on one of them, and cut it 1/8th bigger all around now place it on the 1/4 and shrink it out. now when you install it you only have 1/8 to hide and I belive on that one that you can cut the bottom about 1/4 inch and still tuck it in. good luck................thumb.gif

what is the "wire" method?
Tom Cat
I've done tons of those little pieces of crap. I never had that much trouble with them, just make sure you get a little bit of shrink out of them. I've never thought of removing the glass...

I hate 1/4's regardless!!

For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face:
now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.
