I dont pull the seals back i just push them down, clean, and apply the film. But after joining this network I've been more and more interested in what you are all doing pulling the seals back? Anyway i'd like to understand what you're doing because the day I stop learning is the day I'm dead so please share some of your methods for those bottom seals and any other seals on a framed window.

there are some you should not tuck. i usually buckle the tint and slide it behind. it takes practice to get it right.

check out 44tools.com they have a few tools for this. I use the conquistador. It is also good for getting some edges for squeege cleaning. 44 also has a red wide tool that they are marketing as a "poor mans gasket tool" If you call them they can help you too....

I have used the conquistador for most of my 8 years....just fold the film and pull the gasket out with the conquistador and start the film sliding down in.

About anything it takes to get the gasket out of the way. Sometimes its removing door panel, some you pull top of door panel back then remove gasket. When I don't dare take the panel off I tape the gasket back. And then just a few I tuck the gasket down.

what do you do with that little conquistador just shove it between the window and the seal and lean it back enough to slide the film by? It looks so small?

how do you personally tape the gasket back i've seen it done and wow the guy made a mess which is why i have always just tucked them down

I hate gasket wizards. I have seen more people scratch glass removing them then I have found uses. But it's what you're used to. taping them back is a good idea if it's not too tight. Then I would pull panels. lay tape on the glass backwards and slide it in like you do when taping your edges

bingo.gif 87? - 98? Chevy PU's is a prime example of gaskets I tape back. I've just heard horror stories about removing those panels and if you roll the window down, then tape them there is lots of room. Works for me.

I push them down and PULL them back up with a "hook tool" sold from filmhandler and 44tools thumb.gif it works great.

these truck gaskets don't fit tight enough to hardly matter....film slides down easy enough without any need to tuck or tape one..... twocents.gif

But they do hit the glass. What are you doing, tinting the top first, rolling it up, then sliding the film behind it?

For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face:
now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.
