At least 05-06 model years. Before that they were normal. And I don't think your doing 2007 Altima's as their not out yet. That's a completely new body style and not scheduled to bow before December. Today I did an 07 Versa (easy), an 07 Sentra (easy) and an 06 Altima SE-R (back window not so easy because of those damn defroster lines)! In fact sometimes I'll get 'stars' on the lines from heat shrinking. Mo
yea altima back windows are funky.
but i did an 08 today
I started prepping these a little different because I was getting those stars on the lines as well, or the defroster lines would be rough and have burrs on the edges causing the film to look bad from the outside at the lines, like old tint overlap lines when we use to piece back windows.
Now I just scrub the window down with #000 steel wool, then clean two to three times with the blue scrub sponge. It seems to smooth out the lines where the tint will lay more flat. My dealer is happy, so it must be working.
wont that scratch the window ...sorry alittle late

i used the copper brush on the back windows when i first started cuz thats how i was taugh but i stop because i was afraid that would stratch the back window too......... i guess both the copper brush and the steel wool are good to use bot just use on the def lines and im guessing dont press to hard .....
did my first 07 altima today. easy back window, defrosters laid down nicely. doors were all flat no shrinking needed. door panel removal was typical nissan, one screw behind the door handle and 2 under the arm rest.
I did an new Altima Tuesday , pretty easy ride . Back glass is kinda like a Honda Accord and is mostly flat no drama with it though Rolldowns were an easy affair
I did one today and i was able to pull back the top of the door panels and remove the gasket without pulling the whole panel
I wish I read this before 10 am this morning

I never thought to pull out the door seals, and yes, the defroster lines were thick for a nissan.
I wonder why they felt they needed to bulk up the lines, if it was'nt broke why try to fix it.
Wish I had read this before I tinted the one today. I would have definently steelwooled the rear window.

Been reading off/on, but never posted - help?
I've done 06 altimas before - but I've got a new problem not encountered before. Actually, the defrosters on this one aren't the problem. Down at the back of each corner of the rear deck, there are "humps". I've never had one where the deck is jammed up against the glass on one side. Also, I'm use to Nissans' plastic surround being tight around back glass and overlapping sometimes - but this one is so tight I can't get anything under it down halfway down the side. We're going to look at removing the back deck - but is there an easier solution I'm just frickin' missing? thanks - terry
I have come across some tight ones but never one I couldnt fit Clean them the best you can then Soak it and stuff it. Removal is not nessesary
For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face:
