Applying small stickers w/ shop name & info

Anybody else do this? We recently invested in a large-format printer for the sign side of our shop. We started making small decals (approx. 2"wide x .75"tall) and stick them on the lower back window on the outside of the glass of every complete tint job we do. It just has our name with telephone number on it. It's small enough where most people won't mind it, and if they don't like it, they can just peel it off.
Anybody else try this form of marketing before? It's cheap for us, simply because we make it ourselves. And as small as they are, it really doesn't use up much material.
Any comments, negative or positive, are very welcome.

I've thought about it, but never done it. I have seen some around here, because of the industry I notice em when walking through parking lots and such, so can't really say how much it would or wouldn't bring ya in I might call the # next time I see one just to find out how many calls they get from em

I've used them for years. For me they work. I've had many people say thats where they got my number. Just think, theres probably lots that don't mention it.
And whats that old tinters saying. Do one or two jobs and its paid for itself.

I remember when I was about 15 yrs old and a guy on my street had tinted windows and a small sticker that said TINT KING and the #. Now I've still yet to find the place called tint king. But when I was 16 and got my license I always thought they were the best or were big and when I get my car tinted thats who I'm going to. I never went tho. Got a referal from a friend for my cars. Now I do my own. But I too think about adding a sticker. I think I'm going to do it... Imagine if home owners or businesses let you put a transparent sticker on places you've done

one of my competitors puts them on like everything.....I tried some for a couple years and found that most were taken off very quick. Not sure how one could get a customer to keep them on.....
didn't really work for me.

When i worked at ALTAMERE we had some small ones made up and the kids loved them, they were only 6 inches x 1.5 inches in size. I thought it was pretty good advertising.
I would see them on cars cruzing up and down the drag all the time.

there are pros and cons to doing this.
if your work is top quality and you use a film that lasts.
do you want your sticker on a car that the film goes bad early.
some state require stickers on the inside door jam.

some state require stickers on the inside door jam. ..I'm personally against it ..it was the BEST thing that ever happened to me years ago when a competitor did this..putting their label on every job they did . I won't say what film they used, but jobs were discolouring and delaminating within a year or 2 and that would REALLY draw a crowd to a car..a bad job..and the best part is , when your thinking "who did this crappy job, the answer to that question was right there for all to see The kicker is..The tinter did a great job! ..but because the film went bad, as far as the public was concerned, they did a terrible job...from day one. Not to mention , lets say you sell a bottom of the line film to a guy that leases his car and he doesn't care if you put the cheaper film on and doesn't want to pay for a higher end film because he wont have the car that long..4 yrs later someone else is driving that bubbled up mess around advertising your label on it . No thanks .

I can admit as well that I got hold of a film brand a ways back that I thought was reputable that turned around and failed me miserably (no fault of mine..just a poor choice of film company) I made good with it with customers ..but I'm sure glad I didn't have a label on those cars

What was on the bottom of the rear glass? My sticker. Devil

My state requires a sticker between the film and glass stating 50%.
So I have my name and number on it. Hopefully in 4 years everything works out for the best.

In that case, no sticker, cause you know it will look like crap down the road, but with the film you KNOW is going to hold up for years, do it. I don't have that problem, as I don't sell 3yr warranty films.
For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face:
now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.
