Full Version: Condensation question

Protint
I got a call from a friend that says he is getting alot of condensation on the inside of his store windows and wants to know if window film will help eliminate this. His store is a pool and spa place.

I told him that I didn't think that film would help. He shold lower the temp. of his spas and buy a dehumidifier.

Was I right? The glass in single pane tempered.

hmmmmmmm.gif I really doubt it will make a difference. dunno.gif

I would suggest venting the room to help remove the moisture. dunno.gif

Window film will not help, but tell him you'd be willing to try... orngbiggrin.gif

I was hopeing you were gonna show V. I knew it wouldn't help. I was just hopeing that someone had a better answer than what I was thinking.

Check the windows for drafts. Might need some caulk.

Most likely, it's just too darn cold.
Protint
I haven't even looked at the place. Thanks for the idea Dan. When I go up there I'll check it out. thumb.gif

IF the windows get some sun exposure than film "might" help.

Obviously the windows are going to heat up when the film is on. So when the sun is on them they might get warm enough to keep the condensation down.

But I doubt it. Is it just condensation or is it freezing?

You said, it's a pool and spa store right.??

Then look at it this way.... if you take a shower the mirror fogs up right???? hmmmmmmm.gif

If you leave the door open it fogs up less or not at all...Imagine the amount of humidity inside that bldg.

Either lower the humidty...vent the bldg...add the dehumidifier that you recommended.. or aim a blow drier at the window..... dunno.gif

He said that he couldn't lower the spas temp. because people wanted to see them hot. Maybe it's just me but when I go to buy a hot tub I know what 100 deg. water feels like. I just want to see what the features of the tub are.

now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.
