Full Version: Easier 995 masking

Here is a quicker and easier way to mask the film off for your 995 application.

It will take just a few seconds to slap four of those on, then run your tape between them.

Now in the corners you have a nice and even 90 degree without having to fuss with it.

Available at most paint stores for pretty cheap.

Duck must have redone their website in the past few weeks.

They're called "Quick Corners" and you can get them at almost anyplace that sells paint and painting supplies (houses, not cars).

It's basically a 90 degree piece of tape you place in the corner. Then run your tape between it.

For a second tip to make DEMASKING easier. Fold the end of your tape over onto it self once you're on the corner. This way you have a little handle to grap ahold of it and don't have to try to pick at it to get it to come up. Because I'm sure you're wearing gloves!

what the hell are y'all taping??? I'm confused as well....what do you need tape for....other than headliners around strips or rear windows, why do you need a 90 degree piece?

they are talkin about flatglass security installs that get a wetglaze attachment system. You have to tape off the glass and frame of the windows and then run structural silicone in the edge of the window and then trowl it out so its smooth and then pull the tape off so it will be uniform and look professional.
tintinater
yeah, I never cared much for flatglass,.... but I've heard of such systems, never heard it called "995", shows how much I know.....call me crazy, I prefer cars...

yer pretty knowledgable for the best tinter in here. Flaugh.gif

Yeah,..... maybe I should change that,...... maybe "the best installer of film in here"............or maybe how long I've tinting.... Flaugh.gif

But seriously, how thick is that stuff??

995 with go in either 1/2x1/2" or 3/4x3/4" on most stuff....

For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face:
now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.
