Last April we installed about 1000 sq. ft. of Hilite. My customer called last week to inform me of some issues. As we inspected the windows we noticed distinct patterns forming about the size of your hand that repeats every 10" or so. Anyone out there experiencing any issues with Hilite 70?

I will get pics posted soon. The Panorama Rep played it down and said that he had never heard of any problems. We are in Tulsa Oklahoma. Flat Rock Stan knows me well!

Welcome to the wonderful world of Bekaert. Heard the same re: HP Charcoal. Had similiar issues with Stainless Steel a few years ago. At least the HILITE isn't expensive. You know, V-Climber, you get what you pay for

Years ago we called it banding, except banding ran the full length of the film. In a window that is 60" x 36", I have 3 patterns that have that same banding look, but they're shaped about the configuration of your hand and they run horizontal. Another window that was about 36" wide by 50", I flipped my film and fitted the factory edge at the top and those patterns run vertically. # # #
The windows that are failing are on the south elevation, which would stand to reason, this time of the year in OKLA. we have a strong southern exposure to the Sun. The edges were sealed according to BSF specs. I suspect that the warmer temps will increase failures.

IMO - Sputtering defect whereas the metal did not get dispersed evenly on the polyester.

Those types of films are so complex. Making clean consistent runs of film is tough. Big B had some QC consistency issues in the past with Hilite, and that what delayed it's release in the past. Perhaps, some of the same old problems are resurfacing.

Your right V. Making good quality films can be complex. Still doesn't excuse them. They have been becoming more consistently inconsistent in their qualtiy control but consistently consistent in raising prices . Get my drift

And that is probably one of the reason that neither of us buy from B.

I hope they didn.t supplie me from the same batch of rolls. Just finished the 5000 sqft of Hilite on the glass roof.
I will kill myself if anything is wrong with the film.

We install alot of H70 and at the beginning we had very long dry times. But they came out with a new mounting solution that fixed it. We have not had any failures of the type you are mentioning. Keep me posted.

Crap, I just installed 4 rolls of Hilite in January. I hope my film came from a different batch. I'll keep my eyes open for that problem. Post some pictures when you can so that I can see what to look for.
For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face:
now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.
