The aluminum foil protector is pretty cool. I'd like to see the same pic from about 5' back.
I use masking tape....for like avalons and other stuff that melts easily

I use it to shield the mirror while I go tint the other window . Up here it gets pretty cold and takes the tint a while to set. On this car I shaved the edges,so by the time I was done tintiing the other rollup this one was ready to shave ,with no worries about the film lifting,or the possibility of melting the mirror while I answer the phone .I think it would be handy for a mobile tinter who works outside . or someone who has no helper but doesn't have the time to stand there with a heatgun.
i usually drape a wet rag over the mirror. thats if the door requires alot of heat. wet rages are usually all around a tint shop. like the absorber
