Full Version: Audi S8- How to?

thillwtm
A customer brought in a 2007 Audi S8 today and we had trouble with the rear window. Has anyone tinted this car before? If so are there any suggestions on making the process easier? The problem was encountered when we saw the brake light in the rear window touches the glass and therefore we couldn't get a tool in between.

just a segestion tell them a really high price like lorenzo on his vette and let them walk out the door, why put your self through the pain to tint that thing you can tint 2 normal cars in that time and not put up a sweat.

Vette x 2 = S8 is a bargin for a Monday. Custom tint all the way, do the job the right way and gut the beast. Trunk monkeys are a must. twocents.gif

the audi A8...fun fun fun. The headrests are supposed to come out. You need to pull on them pretty firmly. As for the tight bottom back window. I use 1 or 2 twelve inch white with black rubber edge squeegees to get the lower section.

Had someone call last Saturday with an A8 askin' if I could do it that same day.

Fortunately, I couldn't.

He said he was gonna call around to get it done that day.

Whew! dodged a bullet!

Yeah it's a POS, just be shure to use your bulldozer and you'll be alright. Hard but not hard enuff to lose $ on.

I do them all the time, got them down to a science now! Pop out the headrest, get a bulldozer and a 12" white and black cut at an angle, and your done!! Or if your lucky and get to tint the Audi W12, the back seats recline so much you dont need to pull the headrests. By the way the W12 is like 2 V6 motors under the hood! Sweet cars.

Too bad you cant cut around this one! Unless you dont tint the bottom 4 inches of the window.

we dont do s8 all the time. but we did our 15th one yesterday. the car is just time consuming. we cant figure out how to remove the rear headrests. but abulldozer and a if you have sometype of homemade extensension to squeege out the light area you will be ok. thumb.gif

So i dont have a bulldozer or anything to reach the lower part. So i have to take out the rear deck. So who has done it with the rear shade, and what are the tricks to not break it? Everyone keeps talking about it but no one will explain. Has anyone actually done it? remove the rear deck???

For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face:
now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.
