Full Version: Looking for my first Purple Heart MR. TD..
Well I was doing a residential install on a 3 pane, 9ft slider and had already precut the 3 peices and was planning to back roll each pane. Well on the first pane the precut roll was a little too wide to make the back roll go smoothly so I decided to take a shortcut and just cut the rolled film width a couple of inches shorter. I got a fresh blade so it was nice and sharp(first mistake).... Half way thru making the cut the blade slipped and I sliced right thru my left middle finger

I had a similiar situation about a year ago digging some tough silicone out of an edge. The 4 inch flipped on me, must have went at least a 1/3 of the way thru the finger, very painful. I wrapped it with a piece of paper towel and electrical tape, and had to do that 2 more times before finishing the job. I used neosporin and some butterfly bandaids when I got home and it healed all right, even though it surely coulda used stitches.
