Looking for my first Purple Heart MR. TD..

Well I was doing a residential install on a 3 pane, 9ft slider and had already precut the 3 peices and was planning to back roll each pane. Well on the first pane the precut roll was a little too wide to make the back roll go smoothly so I decided to take a shortcut and just cut the rolled film width a couple of inches shorter. I got a fresh blade so it was nice and sharp(first mistake).... Half way thru making the cut the blade slipped and I sliced right thru my left middle finger ....OUCH!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was afraid to look at first, hoping it was just a superficial cut that I could just hold a little pressure and put a bandaid on. After rushing to put my hand over my tint box to make sure I didnt get any blood on the homeowners new white carpet, and wiping the area with a paper towel... I could see actual flesh peices coming from the wound...UGH!! This was no superficial cut! At that point the homeowner asked if I was okay and trying not to sound like a little girl I said yeah I am fine just a little cut (meanwhile I was crying like a little B!TCH on the inside) I then went to the kitchen sink ran water over it(2nd mistake) OUCH! the hot water was on! In between gushes of blood I managed to put a bandaid over it...Like trying to repair a Dam leak with bubblegum, then wrapped it tight with blue painters tape. Believe it or not I finished the job and went strait to the urgeant care and got 4 stitches put in. I hope at least I get a purple heart for finishing the job!!!! Damn $30 co-pay cut into my profit that day...

I had a similiar situation about a year ago digging some tough silicone out of an edge. The 4 inch flipped on me, must have went at least a 1/3 of the way thru the finger, very painful. I wrapped it with a piece of paper towel and electrical tape, and had to do that 2 more times before finishing the job. I used neosporin and some butterfly bandaids when I got home and it healed all right, even though it surely coulda used stitches.

have you ever caught it getting out of a recaro seat ouch....
