Contamination Removal

When doing auto or flatglass tinting, I hate that problem of peeling back the film to remove contamination, like a big piece of fuzz or something, and when you peel the film back, you can't find the contamination because you have to spray the film as you peel it.

here's what I do; You have to have clear tape and a marker handy:



Stick a piece of tape over the contamination, circle it, peel the film back, remove the contamination, then replace the film and peel the tape... Voila!
Be sure to double the end of the tape before putting it on the film so you can peel it easily afterwards.

I mark my auto tint with a black sharpie all the time and it wipes off with rubbing alcohol just great. Only time I have had any issue wiping it off was on some white frost film that I had marked for length in the box....took some scrubbing to remove it from there....

Anyway that would take away the tape and the pulling of tape off....just mark and then wipe it off with rubbing alcohol.....

ever here of china markers...that work great for that..that is what i have been using for years

That's a china marker in the picture. The advantage of the tape is that you don't have to wipe anything off. It's quicker than getting permanent marker off w/alcohol, too.

Same here. Works great also on back windows when trying to find that little spec or tiny finger that won't lay down, just circle it on the outside and crawl back in the car.

Or in some tinters cases, that big arse hair they think they can make "disappear" with a chizler and some heat, or the glue from a sticker they think they can over heat the glass and just smear the adhesive behind a defroster line and no one will notice.....I've seen it all, trust me
