06 Corvette - How?

Just a quick question for anyone that can help me.
I tried to tint a mate's 06 Corvette and had no luck with Bekaert's Titanium 16. I simply couldn't shrink it enough.
What 15% (or there abouts) film is easiest to use for these rear screens? and also, is it easier to shrink it horzontally or vertically?
Thanks, Scott.

Up and down.....side to side.....gotta play with the film...... Take your time...try not to rush it.

Soap the backglass...lay film and anchor across the middle...trim film BIG and leave some EARS as in the picture...these are to pull on...leave them on the top and bottom....slowly heat and pull the ears as you shrink. You will see how it makes shrinking SO much easier!

try leaving about a four inch apron of film above the top corners to hang on to while shrinking. a slight tug is all that is needed to keep the shrink flowing. if the film gets too ot to touch...move to the other side. cold film shrinks a lot easier. if yer wearing a glove while shrinking, yer gonna have problems with tougher shrinks for years to come. sensory input from touch is vital info.
give the bare-hand dry shrink a try. mount the film tight accross the back glass. (this can be done by placing a dab of water near the middle of each side of the glass before placing the film. hard card one side, then pull on the other side 'till banjo lines appear accross the middle. plant it there, step back and see that you have it all square) you can move the banjo line up or down depending on where you want the most or least shrinking. (top or bottom) this eliminates the need for powder if you "attack" the film with your decent heat gun. shrink cold film fast and it hardly gets warm. since yer bare-handed, you'll know when to move on. (i still use powder in a few situations) forget about that old "H" plant...it makes for a lot of extra work.
well, have a good one...and let me know if this helps/hinders. (he-he)

I used to be scared of these....but now that I have done about 6 or 8 of them....I have NO problem at all. It shouldn't take any more than 15 minutes to shrink the backglass, its very simple. I'd say the doors are tougher to shrink

What are you guys using for the matrix? I had a customer pull the tint off when he git home b/c he didnt like the way it looked on the matrix. I havent tried gluing it, but did use vinyl and he didnt like that either. I havent done one in a while, maybe I was just off.

I did my first Vette today finally. I've been tinting about one car per week on average over the past 3 years or so, just got my first one, the owner is a friend of mine. I must say, it was not nearly as difficult as I expected it to be. I did however have someone help me lay it since I wasn't about to put that piece on the floor after spending 30-40 minutes shrinking and cutting it hehehe. Thanks for all of the great tips in this thread, the window came out pretty well. I did not glue the matrix however, and that did not look the best. I felt there was just too much risk peeling the film back with the awkward angle that would be required. I will be trying blue glue on the next or possibly redo this window for him down the road. BTW I used ATC 15 which has been a decent film imo, however I have noticed ghosting in the last two vehicles I did BG's on. Is there any way to reduce the risk of this or eliminate it?
For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face:
now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.
