front windshield

I just tinted my front glass on my bird last night, took all damn day but the results were well worth it... heres a little teaser.



im not the best pic taker nor do i claim to be but you can see it pretty good here 5% on the shield and its DARK as hell especially trying to drive last night. Hopefully it gets lighter with time.

Legality aside... here's an honest statement that NO ONE can dispute here when I say :

"{I'm glad you don't live in my town driving around in front of my house where my 2 young boys play."

These are the kind of pics I was talking about..not the "iffy" ones where the laws vary from state to state, but rather the OBVIOUS illegal pics and all the bashing posts that will follow it turning into another thread.

Let me be the first!! Here is your bashing post. This one I will back the MODs on 100%. That is a prime example of stupidity if I ever heard of one. There is NO possible justification for 5% on a windshield. Nor is there a reason to post pics gloating about being irresponsible. Did ya go all the way and double up on the five on the sides and back? A can of Krylon would have been cheaper.
There are some of us hoping beyond hope that we can get the tint laws relaxed a bit. And maybe we will tint a LITTLE darker, But the powers that be would only see THIS as a "Give them an inch.... " scenario, because some A ssho le like you will take a mile and run with it.
Window tint/films have a definate roll in contributing to comfort levels, protection, and privacy for the consumer, NOT intended to be a visual hindrance for the sake of coolness. (and just how cool ya gonna feel when you hit someones dog or child because you couldn't see?) I know for FACT that you cannot drive that at night, I don't care how young you are, or how good your eyes are.
Why dont you post a pic of the back glass? be sure and get the tag in it so I can see where you are from, get the # and report your stupid, irresponsible a ss! I got free long distance, and nothing better to do than "Fuk" with idiots like you!!!

glad you got it done. ive never done a tbird windshield, but thats one i would worry about cause of the headliner.

Dude, compared to that B/G, the windshield is CAKE! I'd really like to see a pic of the B/G on that car if the windshield took all day (But really, please include the tag!!!)

wow! this tops them all! ive seen them done 35% but limo??? why. this is not safe for anyone. why not just stick huper ceramic 50 on their if what you want is heat rejection.

everyone needs to calm yourself... yeah it is dark, too dark for my taste, i was planning on taking it out and throwing some 35 on it... trying to drive last night was like cruising with my eyes shut...

btw to the guy that suggests i double up on the rear tint... already have lol double 5% but i was planning on taking all the tint off and doing the car with 20% and 35% on the shield

yes i will be taking it off... its rly too dark to see out at night.

it did take me all day to completely finish the tint, most of it was spent cleaning the windshield, the car was painted a year ago and when they reinstalled the front glass they globbed adhesive everywhere, it was almost impossible getting that dried up gunk off the inside of the glass. But anyway yeah its coming out im soon to order me some 35% and post pics soon as its done

That would be a very light sentence for this. It should fall into the "premeditated" category, as he knows that it will restrict visibility, and chooses to drive anyway. He doesn't care about others safety, and is not too particular about the victim.

I wasn't suggesting it, I was inquiring if you had done it. (but then, I already knew the answer) Just curious, but what kind of response were you expecting from us? Did you not at least get a "feel" for this forum before you started posting? Christ, I aint even against tinting darker than legal, but tint is that, TINT! A transparent layer of film. NOT OPAQUE!! That kind of crap brings heat on all. Please enlighten us! Just WHAT ever was your justification for 5% on the W/S, and 2 layers of 5% on the rest? I am not being facetious, I REALLY want to know what you were thinking. Was it for heat rejection? Privacy? glare reduction? All of the above could have been accomplised with 35 on the W/S and 15% on the rest. And THATS pushing the envelope.
When you are looking thru the windshield, your eyes are accustomed to that light level. when you turn your head to look out the rear, your eyes need time to adjust to the film. the darker the film, the longer it takes for the eye to adjust. 5% is bad enough, but doable for some. Double5% is plain asinine, and is an application not intended by ANY MFGR that I am aware of.
