Shady....are you guys buying and rebuilding these things
Not that one, just the classic cars and T/A's.....
We have 2- 1968 GTO's, a 1970 Super Bee, several old Trans Ams and an old Dart, to name a few.... Some need more work than others....
looks good
The top looks nice and snug. Too bad they didn't get the bodywork done first. I usually discourage doing the soft work before the paint and repairs are done on anything. I had a DONK in once, put a bright white vinyl top on it and had the white button tufted interior half done, and then he took it to the body shop. It came back trashed, with overspray on the vinyl top. Really screwed things up.
I'm nervous right now. The 50 Merc is going to have some paint touchups and some body panel repairs done to it. Another white interior being subjected to the paint shop. I have been grilling the guy over and over to make sure his painter understands that it has got to be masked off completely, or it's going to get ruined.
I agree, but the customer was the bodyshop.
He wanted the top done first so we wouldn't take the risk of scratching their work. If they screw it up, we'll just have to do it again....and get paid again... Although this bodyshop is one of the best around, they are certified mercedes and beamer facility.....

They brought it back yesterday for fit and finish of the remaining trim...
To be crashed as bad as it was, all the gaps and body lines are spot on.. Just a stripe and a rocker molding left to install...
For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face:
