Full Version: Alfa 159

I know it should be in the Auto section but I'm having no luck there. Has anyone done an Alfa 159? If so, how did you handle the sides? Pull panels, chock them, tuck them? Got one coming this weekend and need a heads up. Thanks in advance duck.gif

Never done a alpha...and well thats the first i have ever seen one..

There's four allen bolts in the door trim (you'll see where they are, easy to find - three bolts in the rear doors if I remember correctly) and then the panel easily pops off. With the front doors, you can unscrew the top allen bolt (the one behind the door handle) and pull the panel far enough away from the galss to remove the gasket (a hard plastic gasket) but its a real biatch to get back in (if the door panel is still on), so easier to pull the whole panel.
The felt/rubber trim around the door frame is a pain as well, but this is able to be removed. There is a wire that is hidden under the felt/rubber trim (I dont know what its for, maybe some sensor to tell the car if the window is up or not???) so just be careful of that wire.
Other than that, no major dramas.

G'day Rocky....haven't seen you kicking up dust for a while mate.

All that about the Alfa = crap. I don't need to do them.

Thanks Rocky,

I just ended up half sheeting them because the internal rubber was way lower than the external. I did remove the felt (same as the 147) piece of cake. I don't know why I was even worried. Just first time I've done one I guess beer.gif

For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face:
now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.
