Full Version: 3m safety film

I'm looking for info on MMM Scotchshield SH4 CLARL. Is this a safety film or is it just an anti-graffiti film with a temporary adhesive?
darkdan
You sure you got the name right?

There's SH7CLARL, SH8CLARL, and SH14CLARL. Those are standard polyester S&S films.

There's SCLARL400 which is the 4 mil ultra series.

So you're either looking at someone who doesn't know what the 4 mil is called or they typed the number wrong and it's either 7, 8, or 14 mil.

But no, it's not AG film. Those are called AG-4 and AG-7.

Doesn't 3M market their SCLARL line for anti-graffiti as well though?
darkdan
They might, but I don't see why. They have actual AG films that remove cleanly for that.

Apparently this is coming out of Italy. DD I do understand their normal S&S line, but just never heard of this one. Thanks for the replies beer.gif

So true.

This thread is a little old, but I just wanted to let you know that SH4CLAR is an older 3M Safety and Security Film. It predates the ultra films and is a standard 4 mil security film. It's actually the same film as what is know called AG-4.

darkdan
So their old S&S 4 mil had a clean removal adhesive?

For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face:
now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.
