EMBLEM REMOVAL - For Clear Bra

TINTZEUS
I'v been doing this process for a while now....Instead of using my knife or another sharp object, I'v been using dental floss or fishing line....floss is cheaper... dunno.gif

I use my heatgun to heat up "around" the emblem....DONT heat the emblem...stay away from it... trust.gif ... It might take 60 seconds to get the tape soft enough...Then with a sawing motion, working the floss under the emblem, I can release the tape from the paint with no damage.

damn good tip thumb.gif

Dental floss won't cut your hands like fishing line......plus fishing line likes to melt at all the wrong times.

Wait... there's a reason to remove emblems other than hoping people will think an old BMW 318i is a brand new 760Li, just because there isn't an emblem present to prove otherwise? hmmmmmmm.gif lol2.gif

Thats why I try to stay away from fishing line..because it will cut.. or melt...but It's funny, If I dont have floss on me...someone always has fishing line.... Flaugh.gif

I'm gonna try that... kinda how a person would cut clay... thumb.gif Next time I go to home desperate...Ill get some dowels...I'm thinkin more like 3-4 inchers.... thumb.gif

Right on 237..... thumb.gif

Some people put a key ring on each end, like those wire saws.
TINTZEUS
That is also a good idea....But metal might scratch paint.... dunno.gif I dont want to risk it.

Whoa, tough crowd. So... I guess these are out of the question?

Could probably dip the key rings in Plasti-dip or one of those rubbery coatings people use for tool handles. I'd imagine there are probably even plastic rings out there that could be used, possibly at a craft store.

Why don't you use braided fishing line ??? That won't melt and it would sure as heck be tougher than floss.. twocents.gif
TINTZEUS
thats a good idea.

For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face:
now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.
