Full Version: florida advice
I plan on opening a new business soon doing res/comm and S&S. I know the install side I've been tinting anything you can put tint on for several years. I just need to know what kind (if any) contractors license I may need, where to get one, and how much? Any recommendations for a good Insurance company will help too. I want to be completley legit. thanks!
Check with the florida chamber of commerce, and I don't know if they have one, but a register of contractors, they can guide you in the right direction to getting one, cost I don't have a clue about Fla, I know mine was around $2400 out in AZ.
Insurance also varies depending on what you are doing, go with a "big" reputable company, (State Farm, Allstate, etc etc etc)and you shouldn't have any problems Good luck

Obviously a different part than you know, cause I've never heard of "Amscots" and there is no "7-11" in the 4 county demographic I plan on covering. Please dont worry about my location, and Ignore the post if you can't answer my question. I am in Florida for 10 years and never heard that kind of sales. He must have the magic touch.
No magic here, just the right brands of film, advertising and some good old fashioned luck!
And. .that's yesterday's news, the challenge is doing it every day and keeping customers happy and building word of mouth. By the way. .it's nice to know we have some friends left out there!! Occupational license is about $15.00 It's a good idea to incorporate or create an LLC. You can do that online cheap. Be prepared to market. My comrades in the Tampa area may have billed 100K in their 3rd month but, no mention of how much of that they spent on advertising. A lot, i'm sure.
Yeah I got almost everything together. Now I just have to figure out what kind of van or truck I need. I don't really want a big van but, I don't want to run out of room with a truck. I'm thinking I'll get a truck and just use a box trailer for big jobs.
I would guess a mini van that is rated at good mileage would be a consideration.
