Full Version: Van vs Car tint laws
I have a '67 van I'd like to tint with 5% tint, but I know the law in Ohio is 50% tint. I guess I just want to vent a bit and maybe see if anyone has ever been hassled in a van in Ohio for too dark tint. I see vans with curtains that you can't see through, what the heck is the difference if it's tint or curtains. Are curtains illegal too? I have been stopped here in a '79 Regal for being too dark, and don't want to be hassled in my van. I dont want to tint drivers or passenger doors, and I have west coast mirrors on both sides. any opinions?
i just looked at the iwfa law chart, thats the tinters bible as far as the laws go. i see they say 50% for mpv, and a van is considered a mpv, but you fall in under the 88 law with that 67 van, thats kinda tricky as to what you can do, hang in there i bet we have some guys from that area that can tell you for sure
here is the ohio law, word for word.
