so i get a tint in from a kid. first off the tint is sold by an associate not me and he's dealing with this kid's mother not the kid. I'm told its just a truck with 2 fronts and a back window. this 1988 truck rolls up with the little wing windows and a 4 piece slider with tint on it. So i tell this kid it's gonna cost more. he's says its fine and that either he or his mother will cover the cost. So here is the icing on the cake. I get in the car and there is a 1/4 inch of dried mud on the door panels and the back window. So I tell the kid it will be even more becuase of the condition of the car. I spent 4 hours on the truck. It was a nightmare. So his mom comes to pay. I'm sure you can guess her reaction. So needless to say in an effort to keep a customer The price gets compromised. How could somebody not realize... "hey I'm having my windows tinted, I should clean out my car and hey that layer of mud might f up the tint job." Oh well I have to vent now and again.

should have handed him a detail bill also tell him you are a tinter not a detailer

Venting is imoportant.We will need a better line of comunication..But yea sell the detail..Talk to the mom(source of money)..four hours..Eff man!But here's a pic..we went bogging last night b 4 i sent him over,,..

i have a sign in my shop that says a clean vehicle is very important for a good install....

for real,i had one friday covered in bird

i wouldnt of compromised on the price, you should of had the kid sign or initial the invoice next to the price change so they are full aware of what they are getting charged for

An asociate arranged this job with the Kid's Mom.
The mistake made here was not clearing the increased price with his Mom before doing the work.
She says no, fine, move on to the next customer.
She says yes, no confusion later about quoting one price and trying to charge her more.
"Clean car=cleaner install"

Yep!!! Nobody likes suprises. If they are that filthy, I send 'em to the detailshop first. I don't want to get dirty. I swear I'd be embarrassed as hell if I brought my car somewhere for service looking like some cars I get in. Some people have no pride.
