Cold Weather Film Removal

If you think it might be to cold outside...... and you have a tint removal for a backglass...try this. Place a liner or trash bag..."black trash bags are is the best" on the inside of the glass. Pull the car outside....leave the car running .....turn the heat on high...full blast.... Turn on the rear defrosters. The rear defrosters like to turn off after about every 15 minutes or so...soooo you will need to turn them back on 4-6 times, to complete the process. Every time you return to the car to re-activate the rear defrosters....wet the window down between the "liner or trash bag" and the film. Might take 1 hour maybe 2. I'v been doing this for along time and it works very well....just like a hot sunny day. The film comes off the glass wonderfully.

Most people in cold environments keep at least a half tank of gas in their car.....sooooooooo it should not be that big of a deal.

Nobody has stripped tint off tint in colder weather than me ( I can guarantee you that..done it when temperatures will freeze your skin in under 5 minutes ) I burn it off with 45000btu's of heat Like Tintzeus says though..even distribution is very important

On a sunny day (even in the cold) black absorbs the solar energy/heat. Works like a charm!!

Although this tip does work at aiding in removing film, letting a car idle for long periods of time is not a good thing for a car. It can destroy critical engine components, destroy caddilac converters, and possible fire hazzard.

I use my steamer so much, I don't even remember who I lent it to. 95% of the time, a bagged window will literally fall off, with the glue and all.

i did it that way for a few years but i find that the either torching it the outside and steaming is just faster. now the torch may not be all that clean and safe, but it still works.

The btu heater for TOTW I think has been done by myself or another Not sure about the rear defroster being used as a TOTW in the past b4
