Need an opinion

I have been using madico for quite some time now, but I am starting to get frustrated with the dirty roles, inconsistent color in the film, glass breakage, seal failure, price, etc... I have a great relationship with the distributor and madico always pays for the warranty work, but i feel like I am paying for a high quality product but getting a sub par product.
I know that the question has been posted several times, but I am wanting opinions on what would be a good film to switch to.

inconsistant colors on which film? Glass breakage 99% of the time is faulty glass, nothing to do with the film PM me on this one, where are you getting film from? I've been using Madico for 15 + years now, and haven't had a whole lot of issues with the film, especially on the FG end of it the auto film in the 90's that was a diferent story

Sl180 fades to a diferent color of silver on the edges of the role so if you have to seem a window or have several window next to each other you notice the variation in color. SB25 each size role has a diferent color to it so it really hinders efficiency because you have to use the same size roll for windows that are next to each other which translates into more waste
Before I used madico I was using 3m and rarely had any breakage or seal failure, but with madico I have several every year. I know that it is faulty glass but it only happens with SB25 and DG35 so I am wondering if the absorbtion % is aiding the failures.

the only glass breakage issues I've seen are with SB 221 & SB 25, I haven't laid alot of DG at all, so not sure on that one. I've only noticed color variations on the 72" SB 25's, the 36,48,and 60 I've had no problems with I'm curious now, I'll make a trip to Madico tommorow, and start pulling rolls, I'll let ya know what I find. On the SL-180, I've never seemed a window with it either, so can't be any help on that one.

There's no love lost between Madico and me. We have knocked heads for almost 30 years. However, I do not believe that their film would cause any more or less stress on insulated glass than the next guy. Residential IG units are not built with the same specs as the commercial side. The glass is thinner, the seals are generally not as good. It's very important that you document your jobs so your distributor can get his money from the MFG.

I know that the question has been posted several times, but I am wanting opinions on what would be a good film to switch to. I used to laugh when the Madico rep came into my shop. Back then, if you were a Madico rep, you learned to take ridicule and rejection well. BUT......I have been hanging alot of Maddy SB and MAC lately and have no problem with it. I DID do one job in SB221, 12 36x76 sliders. 4 out of the 12 look like they were SB341. All came off the same 72" roll. Llumar has a great line of flat glass films, as does Hanita, SunGard, SunTek, and SolarGard, and Global. Back in the day, I often wondered if 3M and Madico came from the same plant, cuz thier car films were the ONLY 2 that couldn't be shrunk very easily, and both had exactly the same characteristics when attempting to shrink them. I have noticed that thier boxes leave alot to be desired. Most of them fall apart in shipping, and one box of MAC 4000 came to us in a box fabricated out of at least 3 other box pieces. I might be a bit too picky here, but I think that a 1300.00 roll of film should at LEAST be properly packaged.
