Full Version: softened water?

lilDetails
I just got a water softener installed at my house and I wondered if anyone has used or uses water that is softened. I know that it makes it seem like you can't get the soap off and that has to do with the surface tension effect.

If I use the softened soap would I need that much less slip agent? I have used distilled water before and didn't find a real difference for my slip over just regular tap water.

I normally use tap water from each of the shops I tint at and have not had much of any problems with anything. I just thought that I might get away with using even less slip solution than I do now.....

anyway....anyone??

Using softened water will leave salt in the film. Certain films corrode such as silver based films and will cause issues with softened water.

some film companies like llu%#r will void there flat glass warranty if distilled water was not used according to tom ... dunno.gif dunno.gif

For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face:
now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.
