They come in with Visa, how does it go into your Paypal ?
i have a computer for them to use less fraud that way and works well for the road tints also they just use there computer to pay
i explain to the custys we have there best intrest in mind so if they have a paypal account we take credit cards that way so no identity theft that way no credit card number theft and so on and paypal is good with fraud protection
Yup, that's how I do it.
Add it to your webpage and they can pay on your website with a credit card without a paypal account. All I have now is a page parked by godaddy...
Using Paypal is real expensive compared to credit card processors. Setting up with a regular processor is easy.
As far as fraud, there are measures you can do to help eliminate it. First, swiping the card and then write down the customer;s info. Address, vehicle and including the vehicle ID number. In 22 years I only had one fraud. Never lost a dime and it helped catch the moron who did it. Depends on how much you're going to use it. If I used it everyday I'd go with a small business solution credit card processor, pay the small monthly fee, pay the smaller % fee, have a machine and/or the ability to call them in (when I'm mobile). Considering I bet I might use it twice.....paypal on my website seemed like the way to go. Plus, people can order gift certificates via my website now.
I use Cardservice International, the service is good and the cost is tolerable.

My Wife goes to some Arts & Craft shows, vendors there take Visa/Mastercard, but you don't see any wires, yet they swipe through a regular credit card machine.
How does that work ? Also, where I work is still using dial up machines, might be good to see if they use dial up or the faster signal.
Here's what I use: http://www.merchantservices.com/

I want NO PART of having a custys card #. I did a sub job for a guy who wanted me to get the balance due when I was done. They wanted to pay by Visa, and the office told me to get the card # and exp date. I told 'em sorry, no can do. the custy can give it to you over the phone, or in person, but leave me out of the loop on that one. My luck, there would be a fraudulent charge, and I'd be one of the folks investigated. Of course I'd be cleared, but the less PoPo involvement I have, the better I like it!! QUOTE (TINTDESIGNZ @ Nov 25 2007, 04:05 PM) [*]565745[/*] Thats who i use also. How can you run a biz without it? 99% dealer work. My sign buddy is going to put those litle decals in the front for sale. All the college kids use credit or debit cards. I was just getting prepared, I dont need one personally QUOTE (willie @ Nov 25 2007, 02:26 PM) [*]565707[/*] who do you use I use authorize.net to process the credit cards. Remember I quit doing auto almost ten years ago so we never see the customer at the office. The guys carry a knuckle buster to imprint the customer's card. At the end of the day when the guys get back, we process the cards on line. It also emails the customer a receipt with the authorization code. When I did auto, we had multible stores and swiped the cards. There are many credit card processing companies that are cheaper than what your bank charges. How can you run a biz without it? you really cant. Try doing business with any Govt agency these days, its all purchase and impact Visa cards. We used to have service from one of the merchant vendors mentioned here. There fee's went up after a short time.. ALways read the fine print . NEVER LEASE EQUIPMENT, and get it writing.
The best place to use to process your credit cards is probably whomever you bank with. Every bank has a credit card processing division and they are usually much cheaper than any other services. Because almost all of your transactions will be in person and over 100.00 you'll probably only be charged somewhere between 1.2%-2% of the sale. As far as equipment, just buy it on ebay, I bought an omni 3200 for about 150.00 and it's one of the best pieces of equipment available, you just hook the phone line to it and the bank programs it over the phone for you. The equipment is something they really rape you on regardless of who you go through.
QUOTE (willie @ Nov 25 2007, 07:34 PM) [*]565787[/*] No problem If you want I can search for the guy who negotiated with the card companies for me. Master Card and Visa process quickly and your account is funded quickly, usually two business days. Discover and American Express hold onto their funds a few extra days to fund your account. Also, they charge more to process their cards. Debit cards are cheaper because they only flow through banks and not the card companies. We do not accept them because our ticket is higher than most daily expenses There is a new process for checks now that will be the norm soon. Customer writes the check and you swipe the check on a reader. It acts like a credit card swipe and gives you an authorization number. You then hand the check back to the customer and the funds are removed from their account that day. It helps eliminate hot checks, One thing I really hated doing auto was dealing with these Bozos who bounced checks on me.
I now go through my bank my machine is paid for. I used the merchantservices and was getting charges for not meeting credit car quotas some months I get more cash and checks than cards. And they were killing me with fees. Now I don't worry with my bank.

I use this .....
![]() Fits in my brief with my laptop, and does not get any easier. I swipe the card at time of appointment, money in the bank and funds authorized before job even starts.
I signed up thru costco.com for my visa processing. I keep an executive membership with them and that also gets me discounted visa processing. No crazy fee's etc.. I accept visa/mc and debit. The processing rates on other cards a too much plus everyone I know that has a different card also has a visa or m/c.
I did purchase my machine outright.. I think it was like $350.00... but I don't do lease's..
Where do they come from

There are Wireless Versions of the machines that use the Sprint Data network. I use Quickbooks for my processing and Point of sale to controll all of it. Card machine runs through the internet connection. 1/2 of my payments are by card. it has a monthly min charge of $16.
My wife works for a credit card service company called Axia. They have great rates and can beat everyone's price including Costco. She sells the service and is very qualified to help save anyone on tintdude money. If anyone wants a free quote on how much you can save from your current provider email me and i'll have her contact you. She has accounts all over, in Oregon, Cal, Penn,NV, ect...
