Global qdp peeling problems

We have been using Global qdp since around april 07, I have seen more comebacks with peeling problems in the past couple of months than in my whole career since I started using Sun-Gard in 2000. Needless to say I was a very loyal sungard dealer at first until I discovered other quality films ( I thought) at a very reasonable price. If these peeling problems were installer related I would think they would come back right away maybe a week or two later, not 6 months later ??? We have 2 vehicles coming in today with peeling problems 07 yaris & 07 mazda, a 96 probe yesterday that we did 6 months ago (driver window peeling) then I checked out the rear quarters and the film was peeling around the whole edge of both windows like it didn't want to adhere to the matrix. As you all know those probe dots are thick but I never had to sand them with any other film to get longivity results? And no these are not all from the same roll numbers nor are they the same vlt's. I really love working with the film very nice to shrink & the color is the nicest Ive ever seen but if the adhesive is failing I can't go on. I'm currently looking into suntek, the carbon is a nice film to work with but too green for my liking and I hear the hp turns purp?? Is anyone else having peeling problems with Global or is it just us here in Missouri?

Yea, i had a guy come back to redo the driver window on a 94 mustang that started to peel, i did the car 6 or 7 months ago in qdp.

Yes we tried it and quit using it because of this problem. If you will look closely you will notice the total bottom edge does not lay down.

I've had happen once so far and I think it's because she's a smoker and rolled it down too early.
I've had QD peel up twice of the 6 times I've used it.

when i used global and sometimes i still do (qdp) never had or have problems ever. been using it since 06. i think it has to do with people rolling the windows down to early, or, poor workmanship.

I guess I should have added for those of you's that use qdp do you tuck below seal or cut right before? We use tint tek and most every pattern tucks atleast a half inch below seal. Thanks for all the responses.

Thanks for all the responses. you know as an experience installer every car is different, some you have to remove the windows, some remove the panels and some you dont have to remove anything at all. . just depends on who's tinting is what matters.

Half inch below the seal? Then it must be installer error because no film should peel when installed like that!

In Texas, we haven't experienced any problems with the QDP rolling up. But, should that issue come up in the near future we will address it as quickly as possible to limit shop owners down time. This will include swapping out the roll that anyone is having a problem with....DD thanks for all your input on our film

I have to agree with you, i have tinted 1000s of cars with it and have only had a few comebacks for peeling, and they are always clapped out civics with 250000 miles on them and windows that wont stay in their tracks. Even then i fix it and add extra heat and never see that car again. i do use those green "Do not roll down windows" stickers faithfully, and ever since then the peeling issues and mystery bubbles 2 inches from the bottom of the window stopped cold.

Yeah, between following myself around with a dual 500w halogen lamp and blue painters tape on the window switches I've drastically reduced early roll down instances myself.
For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face:
now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.
