My fingers started hurting just reading about that. OUCH !
instead of metals..maybe we should start giving out helmets...
I got a crazy cut this week, myself........my olfa was in my left hand and I did'nt retract it, I dropped my right hand and somehow hit the darn blad and I dr*g my right middle finger through the blade. Deep! I did my best to close it and I didnt have any super glue handy. I didnt even have time to run to WalMart, one block away, to get any. Thought, it'll stop bleeding. NOT! Bled the rest of the day and the next. Matter of fact, I was braiding my hair last night and had'nt put a band aid on it yet and dr*g a single hair throught the cut and reopened it and started bleeding again! This cut is jagged and is on the outside of my finger and runs up to my cuticle and wont stay closed. Still cant figure out why it was'nt just a straight cut which is easier to close.
I try to keep vet wrap on it to cushion it when I hit it on stuff. Works great! I know, cry me a river...............waaaaaa! Yadda, yadda! OOOOOOOOOUUCCCHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!
we're all feelin it. I have to see if I can induce some empathy even though it did't happen while working. Had finished working and getting ready to go hunting,(couple weeks ago). Had just watched a video on cold steel knives with my 2 boys.Super sharp super strong and quite possibly the best knives around. One of the demos shown after slicing 2-3" bamboo , slicing through a whole hog, & 1/4 " plywood ,is to penetrate a car hood with one of the hunting knives. the other demos are with swords, daggers all sorts of cutting instruments. Anyhow, my 18 yr. old say's " hey dad ,think you can put your knife through my car hood"? (it was recently wrecked and we were donating it for parts) No son, that should only be attempted by trained professionals .... right; Had I evaluated the situation I would have deduced the knife they used was a thinner blade damascus steel , the car hood prob'ly from a yugo. his car was a 97 cougar. First try with my kershaw survival knife (kind of resembles a meat cleaver with a serrated saw on the back side), I managed to imbed it about 1" Oh, maybe I need to get a little more momentum . Start from behind my head ... clunk , got a little deeper but two fingers slid down the blade,OUCH!!!!!!!!! thought about super glue but upon closer examination there was that hopefully not familiar sight of fat and capillaries etc. After 7 stitches and the Dr. telling me how lucky I was to have just missed a tendon , and just knicking the bone ("which you could have shattered") I pondered; how can a grown man be so stupid?????? "Machismo knows no bounds" QUOTE (H.G. @ Jan 17 2008, 01:20 AM) [*]580648[/*] OOOOOOOOOUUCCCHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!! we're all feelin it. For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face:
