Naturally, the owner sunk a chunk into building the car (GM Crate motor, complete rebuild of the body -- twice, digital gauges, VintageAir), so he was crunching dollars for the interior, since it's always the last thing done. And, he plans on it being a driver (with WHITE, goooood luck) so it stayed pretty simple.
This car was started way back in Feb. 2005. Because a body shop about totalled it during panel repairs, he almost scrapped the car. Then we got it to a good metal guy who saved it. Then building it took time, and it finally got to me in the fall.
The white is Allante white faux leather. The cloth inserts are Brandon medium blue. Boy did that bite me in the butt. The owner brought in a roll of each back in Feb. 2005, along with the seat frames. Because of the white, I didn't do the seats early, instead waiting for the car to get done. Original plans called for tuck and roll all the way across the seats, as well as the side panels. Turns out he didn't bring in enough cloth. By the time I was working on it, wouldn't you know, I couldn't match up the Brandon. PeachTree no longer carries auto cloth, and no one else had the particular pattern (new Brandon is not the same). So we had to do the obligatory inserts to streeeetch the cloth. He was also 12 yards shy on the Allante, but it was an easy match.
Otherwise, molded loop pile carpet piece. Cut to fit and edged trunk, with an inset Bowtie. On the seats, I used top stitched seams to give the idea of what the blue section SHOULD have been. Regular replacement foam buns on the seats. I used Sintra PVC to make the kick panels so I could incorporate the VintageAir vents. That's some pretty cool stuff. Going to use it on the doors of the 32 that's coming in.
