Full Version: viper 550 esp install

Hello all,

I have installed a viper 550 esp system i got from my brother after he pulled it out of his truck to sell it. i only want to use the remote start and keyless entry systems.

How do i make that happen, i hooked up the power and ground and the dome light and parking lights from the main H1 harness, and i only hooked up the tach wire, brake wire and neutral start wire from the remote start harness. i have the satellite relay bank hooked up and the led and valet switch hooked up. Everything works fine except that if i dont unlock the doors with the key fob i set off the alarm sequence, which in my case is only the parking lights, dome light, and led flashing.

Is there a way to bypass the "arming" feature so that i can unlock the car with the key and not set off the alarm sequence. possibly by wiring the door triggers somehow, or programming to not set the alarm.

Thanks for any help

put the system into valey mode.

ground the green wire from the main harness, hit lock, unlock, lock.
that should do it, you will know it is in valet mode because the LED will stay constantly lit.

then unground the green wire.

Does the system remain in Valet mode, or does it reset each time? Is the green wire one of the door trigger wires or something, I know I did not hook that one up.

And thanks for the info

it should remain in valet mode unless it loses power or you remove it.

Green is the negative door trigger.

the system has to see the door open in order to enter valet mode, so grounding that wire will do it, then it also has to see the door opened to remove it form valet mode, so if you unground that wire and then tape it off you shouldnt even really be able to remove it.

if you discon the battery and whatnot however, you will be forced into grounding it again to re-enter valet.

hope this helps

Nice, that makes good sense, I appreciate the help. probably wont get to it till the weekend but sounds like that will do it.

For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face:
now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.
