Hi,

Im new to this. Im having problems with my windows in my house. I think whatever you use can also be used for house windows?

I have condensation in my windows because I keep the curtains closed. Id love to open the curtains, but then no privacy............so..........Im thinking this is the place to get something that can be applied to the glass that lets the daylight in but blocks the view in from the outside.

Does it exist for a house and will it mean I'll need to ask Bill Gates for a loan to have it done?

I have a rather large house with 2 patio doors and about 40 window panes!!!!!!

Can anyone help me?

If you have dual pane glass (since your in Canada you probably do) is the condensation on the inside of the windows, or is it in between the 2 panes of glass? If it's in between, your seals have failed on your windows.
Automotive film is diferent from the film used for houses/businesses, but yes it is avaliable for homes.
What area of Canada are you in? We have quite a few Canadian tinters on the board, one of which may be in your area, and could help you out.
Pricing is hard to say, too many variables with the types of films being used, locations, etc etc. But no you shouldn't need a loan from Bill to get ya fixed up sweat.gif

Good Luck, and welcome.gif to the board.

Thank you for replying and the warm welcome Tintman smile22.gif

My windows are indeed dual pane. The condensation is on the inside NOT between the 2 panes (thank Gawd).

In the winter, the condensation turns to water and drips down the window thus causing some molding....YUK!!! I keep washing it off but Im thinking if I could keep the curtains open, it wouldnt happen. I keep the curtains open in the kitchen and NO condensation!!

I love my privacy and if Im to keep my curtains open, I most certainly need something on the glass to block off noisy neighbours. Im not wanting to get that cheap stuff you can buy at Walmart's as its not private enough for me. You can still see a shadow through it. (you know that clear plastic you peel off the back and stick to the window).

BUT, if its at all possible, Id like something that can be taken down..........what if I want to sell my house and buyers dont go for it?

I might be asking for something not available yet? lol I had tinted windows in my car before, it was great in the daytime, nobody could see inside, but if the light was turned on, you could still see a little. Thats NOT what Im looking for. It needs to also work at night when the lights are turned on.

I live in the Province of Quebec, in the burbs outside Montreal.

I sure hope someone can help me and knowing I wont need to call Billy boy is good news LOL.

Thanks

Hello

there are not tons of solutions about the night time privacy.

all the films provide daylight privacy with diffrent shades for you to see outside. In your case if privacy is really your issue. you need to combine window tinting and blinds. window tinting will gives you the great light for the day and your blinds during the night.
I have also installed and exterior silver film that reduce to max the night time privacy but there are 2 things to consider:
1- they shloud light from the exterior of this window
2- they should not be a light near by the 10feet from this window to guaranntee you the night time privacy.

for your window I would say the ventillatioj in your home is not set correctly, just need to be adjusted and that will stop.

I am in Ottawa and travel evry single month in Montreal, if I can help please consider visit my website http://www.ottawa-window-tinting.com

Thank you for replying Blazux.

I do believe it IS a problem with ventilation. I have no idea how to solve this problem, so I thought it might be easier to put a film in the windows, keep the curtains open and hope for the best.

It seems like there is nothing that can provice absolute privacy at night with the lights on.

In the daytime, you cant see much inside the house with the curtains open, but its a whole other ball game at night lol.

Sounds like I'll need to find something else to solve my problem.

Thank you both for replying.

Blazux, I do have your link and if I cant find anything else as per the ventilation, I'll get in contact with you then.

Bye
