1998 HONDA CIVIC EX

Hey guys i just bought myself a 1998 CIvic EX and you guessed it, it didnt come with the factory key fobs.

All i got was some copys of the keys and no key fob.

I am assuming that this car came with keyless entry from the factory since its a EX and has all options

Can i just get a OEM key fob and program it to work?

WHat can i do?

Look on ebay for the fob ($15-$25) sometimes they come with programing instructions, but if your car cant be programmed manually you will have to go to a Honda dealer to program them for you. Check around at different dealers because some will charge up to $99 to program them and some will be half that. Hope that helps:

A lot of lock smiths can provide and program a remote for a fraction of the price as factory

factory keyless is built into the factory radio on those make sure there is no aftermarket radio before you buy remotes

It still has the factory radio i ordered a key fob for 36 bucks eariler i will have to program it but i have done that before with the CRV my wife used to have

get yourself a cheap aftermarket alarm it'll run u less then $30 bucks. now u have a full alarm not just some keyless.
