Full Version: Dash Scratch Repair

*Steve *
I need some advice on what to try to remove or lessen the appearance of scratches in vinyl on the dash board, glove box door, etc. I read a idea about a hair dryer or heat gun but do not want to ruin things. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks
TTS
Sometimes a hair dryer/heat gun can bring some of the color back to the scratch making it less visible...

Be careful not to over-heat or you will get a nice shinny spot on a otherwise dull dash.

Any chemical or solvent type products out there that work? sanding it seems like it will make a bigger more noticeable area, I do not want to make it worse

Dash repair is pretty involved... There really isn't a 'magic' solution....

If it was me (and it has been on a few instances)

I would start to dial a few new car dealers and see who they use for dash/leather/vinyl repair..

Call that dude and pay him to fix it..

Your other choice...... Disaster thumb.gif

Remember... if it was easy... everyone would be doing it....

i have used heat and a plastic pry tool heat and rub works good for light scratches thumb.gif

For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face:
now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.
