Does anybody have any good tricks for dealing with those?
I use the trick of spraying really soapy water on the edges of the film, and into the side gaskets of the windows, but they are possibly worse than the early 90's Accords.

Do you still tape them to help the film slip behind? I'd be afraid that'd just make the gap even tighter QUOTE (hoosierwindowtek @ Mar 7 2008, 08:12 AM) [*]601399[/*] QUOTE (willie @ Mar 7 2008, 07:07 AM) [*]601369[/*] QUOTE (hoosierwindowtek @ Mar 6 2008, 10:11 PM) [*]601328[/*] Does anybody have any good tricks for dealing with those? And I used a taped up old drivers license or my ez reach on those
Is this a new body style? If so i havent tinted one yet.
Yes, I think it's completely new.
I have a 2 door version in my shop now, first one and the seals are TIGHT AS HELL, i had to do both fronts 2 times before i got the film to slide in the way i wanted, i even DOUBLED the slip solution and still had problems, these seals will go down as one of the tightest i have had yet...
Yep - they are tight MOFO's
Just pull the door panels back a little and pull the gasket out. DONE!
You may have to lube the gasket up a little with water to get them to slide in, but it makes the 08's so friggen easy! I work for a Ford Dealership and I've tinted over 100 of these damn things! dave.
Why try to kill yourself just cut it shorter down the front side of back rollup, angle your blade in. Front windows also cut it short near the mirrors and cut it short on longer side angle your knife in. Push on the glass at the top to force it out and slide the film in. No shirnking on none of the rollups. It's a slam now!
Have not done any roll downs yet. Rear is easy though.
I just got my first one in , I just prepped the car (soaped the bg and took out the bottom seals . Just having a bowl of cereal , I'll report back to give my
Yep..these seals suckk very tight, however I only really found the 2 front door tight..the backs were reasonable. On my second front door I did I put some palmolive dish detergent on my baby finger and ran it along the side seals. when I went to place the tint on, it glided in much easier

For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face:
