This is how I reverse roll

Full Version: This is how I reverse roll
I was going to continue in the other thread, but I figured I might as well start a new one that way I can stop hijacking that one.
Nooooo Roach! That's the hard way.
Hahaha.
Why? I have a job this coming week... I'm going to save the last window and try it the way everyone else seems to do. But I kid you not... that's how everyone who worked at the shop I worked at did/does it. Which of course makes it hard for non-vista/llumar/suntek films, since they roll the film the opposite way.
The other way (liner down) allows for less contaminates to get in between the film and the glass. Plus you can drop the roll down the glass faster and easier.

who can post a vid of the other way. although i can't understand there being any other way. rock on dude. looks quick and easy.
Well, *IF* I'm doing it the wrong way, don't take that vid as instruction and do it like I do. :(
Worse thing in the world is to learn bad habits. As I said in your thread, when I tint with other people they look at me like I'm crazy. lol
Try it liner in and wet the inside before you peel the liner so it sticks to itself

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! That looks awkward as hey-ull!!! Thats bass-ackwards!! You had to put alot of effort in gettin that to work for ya!! The "other" way is more natural. Snap it down, stick the film to the glass and THEN peel the liner off the back of the film. Lots less effort, and the film is exposed to the air for about 2, maybe 3 seconds.
I'll have to do a road trip all over the country and show everyone the proper way to snap film.
Didn't look that bad to me. Looked like it snapped pretty well but i do it like everyone else with the liner in
try that with a PS adhesive!!
Pfft... everyone knows all good films are dry.
PS films are for wimps.
roach im with you 100% on this way. ive never done it any other and dont really see a more "practical" way.
i actually did a reverse roll right today on a back glass of a truck. liner ended up on the outside. of course different without snapping down on FG. i say go with it Roach. Whatever works. looks just as easy the way you're doing it. or, you just might be making it look easy. keep it rockin

Actually, I give props to those who use PS films and work solo... I could never do it. I worked with this one 3M guy who was the bomb diggity when it came to hanging the film. Totally amazed me how he could do it. Of course, he was very tall, which I think helps in most cases. CDF type films are cake... roll... snap.. lay... cut. I can do a huge 70x90 palladium window without much trouble at all, but give me a piece of PS film to do it all by myself... up on a LG ladder.... I'd be screwed.
I thought it looked pretty cool...violent....but cool....
