Full Version: Porsche 944

Matt w/ Total Customs
I got a custy that has a porsche 944 and needs the windows tinted I saw it and i feel it is possible to do but he said other shops wouldnt touch it because the glass was to soft for heating and would scratch when cutting the back glass. I wan't to do it just to say I have accomplished that car. I got the Vettes and Bugs down in one peice now im ready to step it up. I would appreciate it if any one could give me some heads up.

Consider it a rite of passage Matt.

Even if you do get it down in less than 5 or 6 pieces, you are still going to make some mistakes. trust.gif

May the force be with you.

Flaugh.gif or some vise grips. I used a broom stick and almost killed myself. I have done 3 944's in the past. They get better but not easier. I hate that rubber fin along the bottom of the rear window. Also the black border that is always cracked and flakeing off. The rear window wiper motor doesn't help either.
But like TD said it is a right of passage. Let us know how it goes.

At the very least. And only then if i am REALLY slow and hungry. It's definately a rite. Not everyone can say they've done one. I could have lived my life quite happily without ever having touched one. Some cars just weren't meant to be tinted, and thats one of them. Sure they can be done, but why go thru all that aggravation for the money they are most likely wanting to pay. There is an upside tho. Unless they just bought it, and you are the first one they called, they should already be prepped for the sticker shock.

My advise (Unless you are just a masochist) ........................

Good luck! I did one in one piece, but the relieif cuts were pretty big. Be patient and have your schedule cleared for a whole day.

For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face:
now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.
