Full Version: giving it a try

So I am about to give tinting a try. I expect it to look like a complete disaster. My question is, for my first attempt should I go buy the cheap walmart stuff and try it on a peice of flatglass or should I find somewhere to buy a roll of tint and give my gfs car a shot. A friend of mine says there is a 3m store 20miles away. How much does one expect to pay for a roll?

Buy the cheapest stuff you can because you should be throwing the majority of it away on practice attempts.

If you think it's "perfect" the first time then it's obviously not.

Practice, practice, practice.

Also, last I knew the 3M stores don't sell window film.

I would use suntek standard to learn with, walmart film sucks to work with and will just make it even harder to learn imo.

How about putting your money to good use and pay for a hands on training coarse instead of throwing it away in cheap film. At least in the training coarse you use professional film (b grade) and learn the tricks of the trade.

call howard 1800filmnow he will give you some nice film to learn with for a good price tell him class on glass sent ya thumb.gif

go be a grunt at a tint shop

For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face:
now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.
