Full Version: Arming a repo vx 160

Hello everyone,
I recently bought a toyota corolla 2004, it is a repo. So it didn't come with the remote. I bought the remote and programmed it. However, I guess whoever repoed it, removed the arming mechanisim. When I push the arming button, the led does not flash, and when I left the window open and opened the door after 3 minutes of arming it, nothing happened. I pushed the arming button for 3 seconds, the car started flashing the signal lights but with no siren. I guess they also removed the horn connection. Does anyone know what they did to the connections of the alarm? or may be it wasn't installed from the first place?

1) the alarm is in valet mode
2) the siren wires are cut

problem solved

If you can't resolve it with these 2 solutions
take it to a pro beer.gif

If you held the lock/arm button and the lights started flashing, it's in panic mode. But since there is no noise, siren wire/s are probably cut, like Zolar said. The LED could be cut, too. Since it was a repo, I bet the siren wires are cut but the siren is still there. Check on the fenders or the firewall.

For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face:
now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.
