Full Version: broken window; stolen gps
We had a customer today with a new Titan, tinted the 2 front, everythings good called the customer to come pick it up. A co worker looked out the bay window and says hey did you open the front window on the Titan, it looks open....Low and behold, someone must have walked by, smashed the window and grabbed the guys gps unit, now we can chalk this one up as a loss...
That sux, sorry to hear that dude
That sux dude
thats what I say, if they can give you directions, why cant they tell you where the GPS is?
that sucks bro
Yeah, sucks. I know your area, Sun, and it ain't the greatest, but would I have expected this to happen, uhhhhh...........Possibly. Chalk it up the experience.........
that suckes big time hopefully the custy had the pass code set and it usless to anyone else . back in the day like early 70s my dad got lucky and got guy stealing battires out of his shop and got old school on his a%% broke a leg and both arms then call cops justise waz so fun back in the day do that know and guy will sue your a%%
You don't have a disclaimer "remove all valuables from your vehicle, not responsible for damage to vehicle, as well as lost or stolen items"
If they left it in plain open sight, it would seem to be their loss, as you took ordinary and reasonable care of the vehicle, it is not your responsibility to store valuables out of sight. Time for the Customer to call their Auto insurance and file a claim !
I agree
I will never understand why people think that just because they lock their car doors, a thief will not sieze the opportunity to break their window to get at an easily pawned, expensive piece of electronic equipment. And they certainly are able to track those items, they just don't care to. Just like Sirius radio, they know where they are, they just don't care. Another new subscriber, right? Not pointing fingers at you, you certainly are not responsible for items the customer left in their vehicle, it just chaps my butt when other people are completely oblivious. It takes only a second to remove that item from a car. Or, at the very least, conceal it and all of its components. Leaving those items out are just an invitation. As far as I am concerned, that customer and everyone that leaves such times out in plain view are just enabling thieves. No one wants to live in a world where you have to protect your belongings, but we do, so do it! Just a second or two may save someone a lot of money or loss. I hate that you have to deal with such dirt bags right outside your business door, but I also hate that naive, liberal people fail to recognize that there are dirt bags on just about every street. Lets just make it a little harder for them to make a living. Again, I am not blaming you for that theft, just ranting over how some are so naive. Sorry, probably didn't make you feel better, but I feel better!!! Make a better day for yourself tomorrow!!!
The unit actually was stowed away, I didnt even know it was in there. Custy was cool though, we replaced his window, and I believe his ins. covered the gps because we never heard back from him on that, although we did offer to buy him a new unit.

A great new law... I love it. Time for the Customer to call their Auto insurance and file a claim ! Someone was talking about this the other day. I worked for a company that had this disclaimer, we only lost a few customers that thought it was insane, refused to sign and left the shop. They did not understand how we could possibly ask a customer to sign this when we work in there car and could f#*@ something up.
can't hardly take a car to the Deaer or any repair shop unless a person signs the disclaimer.
We have had people flat out lie and say we damaged there vehicle. Scratches With RUST in them there so old! One old car had a falling headliner and someone cut the back 6 inches off so they could see out(haha!) blamed us said we did it. Some people are scum. We all have to pay for there dishonesty. Make them sign a disclaimer!
For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face:
