Full Version: UL listings and hazardous testing approval documents
I have accounts with madico johnson and suntek. I'm currently on the cusp of approving security film installation in place of tempered glass in my county. It has already passed in the neighboring counties but I was wondering if any specific films have passes the UL tests and the testing for glazing in a hazardous environment. Any info will be greatly appreciated. If I get it passed I'll pass along who I talked to and what documents I used. This maybe an untapped market in your county.
UL tests for what ?
There are quite a few films that will bring annealed glass up to the standards as required by tempered glass. These standards for "glazing in hazardous locations" are ANSI Z 97.1 and CFR 1201, Categories I and II. Films from 4-Mils and up will meet these requirements. As far as the UL is concerned, I think you may be referring to the UL-972 burglary resistance standard and there is only a couple of films that currently meet that. The Madico 1500 is one of them.
