Upcoming paint job, ok to tint now or wait?

Hello

I own a '02 Toyota Celica, and Im interested in having the windows professionally tinted with a metallic tint (35%). I want the two sides and the rear window all done at the same time, same tint. Now the thing is, this fall Im having it sent in for a full paint job - complete color change. Im thinking the rear window will probably get pulled for the job. With this job coming up, will it be ok to tint the windows now, or should I wait? I suspect it shouldnt make a difference, but Id like to double check before I put down the cash.

(not mine, random google image to show what windows Im talking about)

I do a lot of body shop tint repairs. Most of them are on windows that were pulled for whatever reason and re-installed. Some of the time they dont even tell the customer that they scratched the window, they just replace the tint and the installer does his best to match it. It is very possible that they will scratch the tint if they pull a window. If theyre cool about it maybe you can let them know ahead of time where you got it tinted. Let them know the film and percentage for each window and tell them you only want that shop to work on your car just in case a scratch does occur.

go ahead and get it done before the new paint. mention the tint to the auto body to have them take special care, and maybe swing it by your tinter afterward to look it over. no big deal.

if you dont mind waiting, i would personally wait. not to mention some of the glass might be removed and then reinstalled but also if it isnt removed, then you have to worry about overspray. just my twocents.gif

For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face:
now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.
