Hanita Films - Israel

Hey all,
I have been researching different kinds of film and ran accross this company, they sent me some samples and it seems like a good stuff. The most impressive thing I found is that they have a 15% film for commercial applications that only has a 32% heat absorbtion. Can put it on double pane windows without a problem. This solves a problem I have all the time of wanting to go darker but have dbl pane windows. I am fairly new 3 yrs tinting so this is exciting to me. I would love some feedback from you more experienced tinters if you don't mind. Thanks,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

I would try the US market first. I carry a 10% film that is dual pane safe. Check around, make calls, get samples. Personally Ive never worked with Hanita, but I know people who have. They seem to like it I guess. Isnt this like the only film that comes in 82" rolls?

those rolls are impossible to come by, have tried getting some before, to no avail.
AS I said before, Hanita is only one palestinian suicide bomber away from being put out of business.

I've tried and currently have their car films like Astra Plus and Cold steel and found them to be on an exact par with anything made in the US. Excellent gear! Devil

We have used a fair amount for flat glass and have experienced several problems with clarity. The film tends to look hazy and has a bad orange peel effect to it, so we have moved away from using it unless the customer is going for the rock bottom price. You cannot use the Cold Steel line in any commercial building due to the rainbow/oil slick appearance, it is very bad. The Opti-tune stuff is pretty decent, but I would be careful where I put up any of their film.

Wow I thought you were describing Solargard.
I have used Solarzone/Hanita Coatings auto film and flat glass film. They are very similar to Solargard. The flat glass film has a detack coating that isn't as user friendly as 3M's. I didn't like the auto film because it would curl on itself when the liner was removed. The price on the film was great and the quality seemed to be up to par also. I tinted my friends car with the AstraPlus 20 and it sat in the CA Riverside sun for two years and I didn't see any fading or discoloration. I wish I could say the same for the Quantum 14 I used on another friends car. In two years same sun it had crazed on every window.

Thanks for the response. I should have added that I am really trying to find a "darker" film that is suitable for dbl, triple, pane windows. I am finding that alot of customers would like to go darker but LLumar( that's who I use now) of course doesn't have anything that will work. ANY SUGGESTIONS??? Plus, I do like to buy American! to agree with some of you. I am just looking for a source. All help welcomed. I love this site! I can't think of a better way to learn!!!

Triple pane you are wasting your time searching. Almost all films are not suited for that type of glass.
Double pane, about the only thing you can do is install reflective. A dark non-reflective would be a stress issue.

We install DARK REFLECTIVE from outside on double pane. It works here. Can not promise that there won't be stress in hottt areas. But here - in Latvia - it works.

Heard of it and tried some. There's nothing to brag about but it's not a bad film from what I can tell.

QUOTE aggressive glue? quite aggressive, best i've used but i haven't used much other stuff so i wouldn't know too much about it. after it dries it's very sticky however it peels off without leaving any glue behind. that's all i know about the stuff really, lifetime warrenty on everything they sell right now that i know of. but hopefully i won't have to worry about that a year down the road :booga

Just got a sample roll of Hanita Omega+ from my homie up in PA and it seems kinda grainy. Didn't seem to match in color as good as SG but was less grainy than SG.

With all the great quality films made in the USA why add to the deficit? Hell, the US taxpayers probably built the plant in Israel with our subsidies to the region. Support American made films and keep our converted previous textile factories now employing AMERICANS with decent paying jobs. Besides that fact the film is just OK - nothing great.

Careful with the real cheap and off shore films. Sometimes the rolls colors won't match, if you do a big pane and butt edges together they will be different. The other big deal is warranty support. If they stay in business that is pretty remote to be assured you will get good warranty support. If they go out of business, well, you get the idea.

I completely agree with skeeter. We all need to stop buying goods made in communist countries like China, and other places like Isreal. China hates us. Thay have a long term program to destroy us, it's called "The long march" look into it.
When we buy Chinese goods for example, we are supporting slavery, and cutting our own economic tthroats. Mean while every fat cat in government is cutting deals with the Chi Coms. They are selling us out.

This plant of Hanita is in a Kibbutz that also make contact lenses and all kinds of labels and metallized packing polyesters. They have one of the newest machines in the world put up 1 1/2 year ago. Not paid by the A mericans -but owned by the kibbutz members.

Volatility in Israel is a fact. Funny how you gloat in the fact that we didnt pay for the machine, yet you want to sell the end results to the US. How about the explosion in 94 , that took Garware offline for 10 months? Near impossible to procure there product from INDIA. Other than 80" material, Hanita offers nothing that cant be had from a US film Co. JUst stating the obvious.
