Full Version: I got SCREWED
I sold my Vortex spray-in bedliner setup (worth about $8000) shipped U*S. It was lost for 3weeks, so I put in a claim. The unit magically appeared, but was smashed by forklift. I asked about insurance when I shipped the unit. I was told it was $25/lbs if damaged (unit weighs 600lbs). Quick math 600X25=$15000 enought to cover cost of machine. Well long story short. It is used so now the only pay $.10/lbs. Quick math 600X.10= $60. The damage is estimated at $4000. So now see how I got f****d!!!
I would tell em ...thats not my set up....lost for 3 weeks....thats not mine.....
That sucks .....I'd be so pissed. Someone needs to get knuckled, sorry to hear that!
I'M GETTING $60 FROM THE DEAL. THEY CASUED $4000 IN DAMAGES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That sucks so bad. Shipping insurance is a joke. Just another racket for them to make extra money. They will always find a way not to pay you.
Sorry for your ordeal. Sounds like every other type of insurance, they gladly accept payment but rarely ever pay. The biggest joke ever, insurance, specifically health.
Small Claims Court up to 5k i think. Good Luck!!!
Just found out buyer closed his biz and sold my Spraying unit that was only half paid for! Boy, I'm getting from both ends now. If I decide to go with small claims court do I have to go to the buyers location or does he have to come to me? I'm in CA and he is in WA?
The claim should be in your state.

Consult a lawyer or your state officials asap. Don't wait to file in court. The longer you wait the less chance you will have. Also, I must ask, why did you send out the unit that was only half paid for??? That was definately a recipe for disaster.
For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face:
