hi i have one to do on monday, i only just saw curve, near the bottom ,all the way across is this a dreaded one, and do you have any tips.thanks
TintDude

Doesn't look too bad at all. dunno.gif

What shrinking technique do you use? (sorry if you've mentioned it before, my memory is shot Flaugh.gif )
shadowline
Very easy dont worry!
kw3lauren
i do soap shrinking, but still a novice.thanks shadow line
shadowline
This is a pretty flat screen to be honest. Use the soap method H anchor, cut the film to the outer edge of the glass, shrink, then do the final cut outside the matrix and it will be OK a good one to start on are you doing the rear doors aswell?
kw3lauren
i was worried about this all day, as put bloke off twice allready due to other things going on.
kw3lauren
may i have wrong model ,as this one has a curve about 5 in from bottom all the way along(left side to right side). I am doing all back windows, first bmw ever i am doing.
kw3lauren
i think that is def one, that tint dude put on(thanks), see near the bottom going along there is a curve (am i halucinating ,has someone spiked my tea,)
tint325i
dont wory about it, curve shouldnt pose any problem at all, window should take 25-30mins max start to finish, i seem to tint more bmws than anything else
kw3lauren
thanks ,nice one .will tell you how i get on , if i bugger it up will definatly have to put l plates back on me.
kw3lauren
i noticed also that some cars like range rover etc have lines going through the back side windows i assume they are for satnav etc .i am facincted to know how you pros get the film to fit around all these lines clean and neatly do you use the heat gun at all and if so can this damage these lines
kw3lauren
for sale 42 inch plasma tv all good condition but volume button busted but for £50 you cant turn it down

Still no reply..................................did you bugger it up then dunno.gif
tint325i
lines in rear 1/4s are either de-mister or fm aerial depending on car, sat nav aerials can be anywhere, range rover is inside rear spolier, bmw e46 is under rear deck, new bmws its on the roof (shark fin) etc

i had no problem with back screen, or the lines on the very back side windows.the major problems i had was tucking the film in on the side seals of back doors ,and the rubber surrounding the small back door windows.this is the first ever bmw, i have done and the hardest car i have done.no matter what i tried i could not get film to tuck neatly in.in the end i had to take out back door windows and tint the glass to the edges.it was either that or give up.i tried to cut film with template but had very minor light gaps (to me looked crap).it looked ok in the end but made me very peed off with frustration.

i now know that ,this car knocked my confidence a little bit,i feel like im back to the beginning again.things are best learnt the hard way some times.
kw3lauren
i saw the car the other day aswell, the bloke i tinted for must have sold it on as it had dog patrol sign written all over it.i can imagine the state of the tints now all scratched up by dog paws. nice to know, its like re wallpapering your whole house ,to turn around and see your kid scribbling its best artwork on your walls .

For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face:
now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.
