Full Version: Bad tint job - help
Just purchased a new civic from the dealer w/tint installed. As it dryed, I have 7 windows with problems. Back window has an area approx 5" dia. and bubbling due to dirt - I have been told by two tinters. Seven windows tinted and all have dirt specs (black) on them plus a a few bubbles here and there. The radio has terrible static and the closest honda dealer blamed it on the tint/broken wires? All wire connected. Put new speakers in this weekend and this cleared up static by 80%. One window was cut too short vertically by approx 1/8-1/4 inch. I want to demand that it all be stripped off (3M) and I take it to another tinter that I've used in the past. If the other 5 windows are left alone, what will develope with the black dirt spots and small bubbles are over the next five years? If this guy can't prevent these problems, why should I trust him with a razor cutting the stuff off and possibly messing up my glass or rubbler? Comments!
Let them remove it , they wont screw up your rubbler....
tell the dealer you want a different car! tell them to get that HACK tinter out of their employment! make the dealership make it right!
Pictures would be great on here.....
If you financed the car, you'll probably see that you paid 2-3 times more for that tint job than you would have at a reputable tint shop ,
where you would get a much better job. ditto lil' They need to make it right.
Simple, tell them to fix it now!!!! If they refuse, warn them you are leaving and immediately contacting the Department of Consumer PRotection, the BBB, and the State Attorneys office. If they still refuse, do just that!!!
Absolutely make them fix it and don't let off until they do
How cany any of you tell this guy that it needs to be fixed, without even seeing the work? lets see 5 inches of black bubbles may very well be his matrix, and the dirt bubbles on the rest of the windows may be one here or there! You have had no pics to base your decision on the quality of the install, yet you automaticly tell this person he has to have it redone and call the installer a hack.
What a discrace to the profession these post's are. No wonder this site goes thru so many members a year, and most who have stayed are just a bunch of tint dmc'ers! Dude. Chill. You are correct though. Pictures would be great no doubt for some legit feedback. If you already consulted two professional installers and they determined the film application was unsatisfactory that should be enough for you to pressure the dealer to fix what is wrong. Good luck! Customers have no idea what they are looking at most of the time, and they overreact about everything. I would love to see some pics of this car
