Full Version: LLumar AT window film?'s
I see that Llumar's AT window film only has a 3 year warranty instead of the lifetime and seems to be a dyed film. How long can you expect this to last before it starts fading and changing colors? Will this be purple in a few years or does it hold up pretty well? What are the pro's and cons to this film?
Pro - The shop that installs the 3 year crap doesn't need to worry about it lasting after that amount of time
Con - The consumer has nasty film all over their rig in a few years
So the Llumar AT film isn't even worth looking at? So basically it's one of the crappy films that will turn purple in a few years?
AT has a lifetime warranty including color change.
Jet is dyed 3 year film.
Thanks Dan! I had no idea what the warranty was.... I just assumed the theatre guy did his research...

I could have sworn when I just looked it up on Llumars site it said 3 year warranty. So is this stuff any good or no?

It says there it has a 3 year warranty but the AT Llumastar has a lifetime. Whats the difference between these two? Is the AT line still a dyed film?
BTW is the jet film any good or is it pretty much just junk?
Jet is what it is. 3-year film.
Why all the questions? Are you planning on becoming a window tinter soon or having another vehicle tinted? http://www.llumar.com/PDF/English/LLumar%2...et%20-%20NA.pdf That one says AT has the LLumastar no color change warranty. Of course, it says Stealth has it too, which it doesn't, and I've already said something to LLumar about it.
Good adhesive, dyed film that will fade and purple. Same HPR adhesive Llumar uses on all of their auto films if I am not mistaken. I wouldn't touch the jet unless a custy asked for purple film.
No more AT, ATC has taken it's place and is a thicker/ better version of AT, I've been using it for a few months now, with great results.

I just booted Llumar out of my shop after years of using their film. It has gotten to where it almost always has a ton of curl in it. I am tired of fighting with it for what it costs. If they would just come to their senses and roll it like everyone else it would make their clients much happier.....
What are you using now?

And how does everyone else roll there window film?
Did someone mention rolled backwards?
thats funny cos when i make the lumar window film we have never put a sticker like that on it!
haha didnt read the lable prop. I have been making the tint for a couple of years now and the only reason why the rolls get too much curl in it is when it gets rolled with too much tension onto the core's. other than that no probs with the way its rolled.
Well... except for the problem that it pissed off the installers...
