Full Version: JWF Palasade
Got a new price sheet from JWF today and it has their new Palasade ceramic listed...cost about the same as LLumar DR series. Only wierd thing is they only offer a 55,45,35....no 70??? No specs, or samples available yet (I called). They said they should have it ready to sell by the first week of August. Im not to excited about the choices they are offering in VLT...Oh well I guess I will have to wait and see what the samples look like and make the final judgement. The price is nice though....

That's because their ceramic supplier does not make 70%vlt. So they're going as low as Lulu DR? What a shame... it's not necessary. That will just spawn a new breed of lowballer. -imo
Yeah I am suprised of the low price for ceramic....so now dealers are going to offer ceramic for the same price as traditional films...If they are smart they will keep the ceramic prices high and make more profit...

J should contribute to maintaining a healthy market. It's going to hurt dealers in the long run and no one can see it coming... No wonder they don't invest in 72" equipment... it would be FTI all over again. I don't believe their claim that there is not enough demand for 72" what a crock. Well, that's my rant for today.
its palisade
WOW, I would have been screwed on a recent job of ceramic if Huper didn't come in 72"
I havnt had the need for 72" film in almost a year.... Most of the time its either 60" or less or over 72"...Lucky me..
I rarely need 72" film, which is good, because windows that big are a pain in the pane.
I used some today, though, and ordered it from Global. I liked it very much. (tintgod @ Jul 22 2008, 08:01 AM) [*]630941[/*] its palisade You say tomatoe, I say Tomoto
Everething must be bigger in USA , exept windows ???????
We use more 72 " film than 60" over here!!
While I don't do a ton of flat glass....a few hundred square feet a month maybe.....I have only needed 72" film 3 or 4 times in almost 10 years. I have had windows that were 112 x 118 and it would not have mattered if I had 72" film for them or not the split would have been a wopping foot higher or lower......
72" is a staple in FG. If you don't think so then you don't hang enough or you haven't been around that long... Ask anyone that does a lot of footage per year or look at it this way.
Any of you guys and gals use 36" rolls? I'm sure you do. Guess why you usually are charged more for 36"? They cut it off of a 60" which leaves 24"s leftover. 24"s are not big sellers in FG. Thus the higher charge for a 36" roll. Now if your MFG can produce 72" material your 36" rolls come off with no waste. Thus a better price. So there are a couple of ways to look at 72" technology no matter how many 72x72" pieces of glass you run across in your careers.
I can drive around the towns I am in and I find very few windows that fit this bill of needing 72" film......either bigger or smaller.
I understand the 36" thought above but don't really care to pay a bit more for one size or other......if I need 72" like tomorrow then I flip to a different manufacture than Johnson......
