Does anyone use them on sales calls?? Any recommendations on which one to get?? I don't want to go crazy, but I have a little extra money this month and I thought I'd add a new toy or two.

I wanna try and get people to add more windows to their jobs, and I was thinking about getting a UV meter to help show them that they have UV coming thru windows they might not think any does....

It's becoming a waste of money.
Since the end user is not well informed about our whole industry,a uv meter can help to sell, however, it is expensive and not necesarry. To show uv entering any window, there were cards with uv sensing material on them that I used to get from my Madico dealer. It was about the size of a credit card and when put on the interior of the glass would change color to show how strong the uv entering was. This is a major selling tool to the uneducated consumer. When the card strip turns to purple and you show them the comparisson on the chart (which is on the card) the light goes on for them. These were very inexpensive and I would hand them out after I did some work on a house. Then, they could check other windows and realize that uv enters even without direct sunlight. Look into these. It is a cheaper alternative.
Heck yeah they are worth it. It's one thing to tell a customer that they have uv's coming through their low e windows and them believe you, it's a whole nother to be able to show them with a meter and then watch that number plummit with film in front of it
What about heat lamps??
Like the whole kits 44tools sell??? I know it's a lot... but worth the investment??
We use em all and lose very few bids
I think these tools are good to have on hand ,even if they get limited use. They do work well , especially the UV meters.

It's just an IR bulb, lamp, some glass, some film, and an extension cord and toolbox to hold it all. Don't need a fancy meter when their hand or face work just as well. For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face:
