dont have a spec card and if I did it wouldnt matter cause no they dont put the absorbtion on it. What is the big deal with you guys not wanting to say what the rate is? Yes it is higher then most, I have installed 10's of thousands of feet of it, its a good looking film, performs well, and have used it with few issues. Besides whats it matter what the absorbtion rate is, if the manu stands behind it then you have nothing to worry about. I like the film personally.
(pmuzik @ Sep 18 2008, 08:39 PM) [*]642751[/*] It's no secret... you're a big boy figure it out. Id say any ceramic, nanofilm, ir absorbing film, or any film that has no metals in it is going to have a high SA. I just wonder why there isn't more problems than their is cause when you pass the 50% mark i would tend to get a little nervous but seems as if SA isn't everything

SA is important but bad shadowing, altitude, poor frames, settling, bad glass, and the like can cause filmed glass to crack with as little as 30% SA... heck, unfilmed glass cracks every once in a while. Heat distribution and temperature difference trumps SA. Distribute high SA evenly over sound glass and you will have no problems. Installing hundreds of thousands of sq ft of ceramic over the years has proved that to me. We have had installed film with SA of 30% to this glass and children had burned there skin !!!!
I went to a house that had huper 30 installed and they were complaining about the windows being very hot and when I got there I could not hold my hand on the glass for more then 1 sec cause it was so hot. When walking upclose to the window you could feel the heat radiating off of the window, but the glass never broke.
