Full Version: new elmer's for matrix
for everyone using elmer's blue glue for the matrix, there is a completely clear elmer's out now. imho works 1000 times better. i've done two now, one mustang, and one grand am, and they both turned out awesome! sorry if everyone has already seen it.
what kind of elmer's glue is that? pic will be very helpful
![]() sorry, my camera is completely worthless, and i know this pic isn't very good, but this is the stuff. i think blue gluers will really like it!
how is it when it dries?
is the consistency the same? this is good news
i will snap a pic of one i did last week as soon as i can, it looks awesome. and its a little runnier than the blue glue, which i almost think works better. but it doesn't clump, like the blue glue sometimes did, at least for me anyway.

I have never heard of this technique before.I am curious I would like to know will the Elmers glue be affected by the UV light of the sun after exposure? How long does it last?

Awesome tip-the clear seems to work better than the blue.I've noticed the blue not holding on all matrix-so far the clear is so much easier to work with and has held and dries invisible!
How does this compare to sanding and doing the drop and heat meathod?
got me 3 bottles. used it the other day. works great, a lil thinner that the blue from what i find and this helps fill the dots alot better. i like it
how much time should you let the film dry (I mean after squeezing), then peel and apply the glue?

Went ahead and tried it on a 2008 Civic coupe. Elmers glue gel for school work. Worked awesome. Loved it. Will use from now on.
Gents,
We probably get 3-4 calls per week about this topic. Although we understand it completely, trying to explain it over the phone is very difficult. If anyone has any pics that illustrate how to do this, please email them to me. I have a free roll of True Black for whomever sends us the best/most useful pics. Please email it to me at howard@buytint.com Thanks guys, Howard Express Films
I currently use the elmer's and yes it looks great. anybody ever heard of a product called McGoups. The stuff is supposed to work great,

vinyl won't let you down
Vinyl sucks the big one. Not as bad a paint though, but really, learn how to sand and glue.
ya cant sand over defroster or antenna lines.....guess i gotta try the glue again....last time it was clumpy and didnt look as how i thought it should...
have any of you ever let the film hang down from the dots? usually what i do is, i will install the back glass first. i will go over the dots with my side swiper and then i will pull the film away from dots and allow the film and water dry off of the dots. i will continue on with the rest of the car. then after i am done with that i will put a little heat on the outside of the window around the dot area. i will then after that take a gray lidco card wrapped in a paper towel and work the film down 3" at a time from left to right until all the film is layed. it looks really good. even sometimes i will let it sit outside under the sun if i have time then come back and then lay the film down.
