Full Version: Not Plumb
I've been eying this one for years driving down Wilshire Blvd. (near Beverly Hills). I always left my card, and never heard a thing. They finally came through, though not from my card being left, but found me through Google. A crane was a nessecisty and was a giant puzzle to monuvure through this building without smashing into the glass, but close enough to reach. I estimated 3 days, it took 6 with just me and my helper. The crane fits only one so I got stuck doing 90% of the work. Times are a bit slow so I cleaned the exterior for some extra cash. Might as well since I rented the crane. The problem with this project is the funky angles and major dust. This job was a 10 on difficulty. Hard work, planning, and early mornings made this one no sweat, ok there was some sweat. Here is a link to the online gallery.
nice work!
Did you use Global Blackout??
(Filmhandler @ Oct 8 2008, 11:29 PM) [*]647134[/*] Did you use Global Blackout?? That's kind of a sore subject. I used blackout from my local suntek dealer (suntek doesnt make blkout), so who knows what film it actually is. The owner insisted I install it on the exterior (no interior access). I was fighting wind dirt ect. The rest of the job was done in Symphony 15%.
Very nice!
lots of planning
exterior install for black out? (tintguy @ Oct 9 2008, 08:39 AM) [*]647181[/*] lots of planning exterior install for black out? Yes black out on the upper part of the exterior ( no inside access) the rest was a complete remove and redo.
looks like a fun job!
Nice job. Funky building.
OSHA would get po'd if they saw you up there w/o a safety harness and tied off. (suntint @ Oct 11 2008, 07:06 AM) [*]647455[/*] Nice job. Funky building. OSHA would get po'd if they saw you up there w/o a safety harness and tied off. The strap was missing a buckle. I got on them for that and got a discount on the rig. But yeah, it was pretty unsafe. Not something I would have my guys do.
For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face:
