cleaning the rear glass

i had added a new step to cleaning my rear glass with great results...
1 st thing i do is wet down the glass
2nd thing i do is scrub it down with a dobie or a white scrub pad
3rd thing is to take you clear slammer and squeegee it from middle to left accross the glass do the left side from top to bottom the repeat from middle to right top to bottom it will take off any burs tape or stubborn dirt...
4th is to remist and squeegee down with blue or clear max it works great ilove the new addition
try it and post your results big joe

I do the same thing except I also wipe the rubber or trim down right before squeegeeing.

What were you doing before?

sounds like a great idea. i dont even need to try this without knowing that it will work. its something that im going try and maybe add to the procedure. thanks joe.

somthing i usually do also to add to the clean job..

i keep the zep concentrate glass cleaner in the shop at all times for cleaning the glasses after the job is done. what i usually do b4 i clean the back window is saturate the rear glass with this diluted cleaner and let it sit for a few minutes. after it sits for a lil while, then i proceed with normal cleaning. i do this whether the car is new or not. to me it couldnt hurt, it can only help..thats why i do it.

I recently started using Meguiar's concentrated cleaner.10:1 ratio misted on the glass,let it sit for a couple of minutes then spray with dirt off and scrub away.Seems to work really well on b/g that hasn"t been cleaned that often.

all the same i just added the clear slammer into the mix i use short pushes so from the middle to the end is about five pushes back and forth all the way down works mint

just did this on a chrystler 300 and it seems like it was the cleanest back glass ever. this is a very good tip, possibly the best tip this year other than the tintzues's dry shinking method with just wiping off the slip. very good to e a part of this web site

on the 4th step do you squeegee just on the center or the whole window?

That's a great technique for cleaning! Instead of a slammer i've been using a red devil,but i think i'll try the ole slammer tomorrow. Seems you can get better leverage with it1

sure you will get 10 times more with the slammer

Just wanted to let you know that i tried your cleaning technique using a slammer and had great results!! I always had good results w/using a red devil, but i definitly got better leverage using a slammer! thanx class on glass!!

Becareful not to scratch the glass.I know it sounds strange but anytime you take a hard object to th glass there is a possibility to scratch the glass even if it is plastic.

Yea i'm sure your right especially if it's a car with soft glass, but i like the idea but being careful in this trade is something that we all need to be! And trial and error (aka. Experience) is are best teacher!

Please could someone post pics of these tools you all refer to,would help across the pond with the terminology differences.

use the clear slammer and not the hard yellow ones clear is soft !!!!!!
